If there's one question we get time and again, it's whether there's really such a thing as a comfortable in-ear headphone. The answer? Yes, there is! you just need to know what to look for.
Some people simply can't stand the feel of most in ear headphones. And even people who don't necessarily mind the feel often find that the fit just isn't right, and that as a result the headphones don't sit in the ear properly, and eventually fall out.
The good news is, you don't have to live like this! Comfortable in-ear headphones do exist; you just have to find the right pair for you. Here's what to look for:
Silicone or Foam Eartips in Multiple Sizes
Melody in-ear headphones come with five (count 'em, five!) different silicone or foam eartip sizes.
Silicone eartips are the standard, and sometimes simply changing the size of your silicone eartips can make an enormous difference to the comfort and fit of your in-ear headphones.
Foam earphones are much like the foam earplugs you can buy at the pharmacy; once you place them in your ear canal, they conform to the inside of the ear for a perfect fit.
Inner Ear Headphones
Inner Ear Headphones are not as good at sealing out ambient noise, but they still provide great sound and great comfort if you simply can't tolerate earbuds. Inner Ear headphones sit just inside your ear without going into the ear canal,, and are usually made of a hard, durable plastic material instead of silicone or foam.
